Obituary for Edgar Pelham
On the morning of Thursday, March 7, 2024, Edgar Pelham made his peaceful transition into God's resting place.
Edgar was born on January 5, 1936, to Arthur Randolph Pelham and Annie Mae Pelham in Melrose, Florida. He graduated from Central Academy High School (Palatka, Florida) in 1954. Edgar enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 8, 1955, serving his country honorably and faithfully for well over 20 years. He retired on June 30, 1981, at the rank Staff Sergeant. Edgar later held positions at Lee State Prison in Leesburg, GA and Turner Job Corps in Albany, GA. Edgar retired from Aspire Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (Albany, GA) in 1999.
On July 12, 1962, Edgar married the love of his life, Mrs. Ruby Lee Williams-Pelham. They were married for 38 years until the Lord called her home on October 31, 2000. Edgar was a member of Cutliff Grove Baptist Church and later Christ Harvest Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to fail.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Randolph and Annie Mae Pelham; One Sister - Edna Pelham Ashford Perry, and two Brothers - James Pelham and Willie Randolph Pelham.
Edgar leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter Ginger Pelham Nickerson (Luvern "Nick" Nickerson) of Albany, GA and one son Kenneth Miles (Christine) of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren - Mychal Pelham (O'tessa), Albany, GA, Jason Nickerson, Atlanta, GA, Michael Nickerson, Chicago, IL and Kenya Miles Lipsey (Jeremy) Lithonia, GA; six great grandchildren - Kizzie Nickerson, Jace Nickerson, Mylah Pelham, Kensli Lipsey, Kali Lipsey and Dallas Lipsey; two sisters - Lettie Anderson and Francis McGinnis of Melrose, FL; two brothers Solomon Pelham (Cassandra) of El Paso, TX and Gregory Pelham (Valerie) of Alachua, FL; ten sisters-in-law - Omia Pelham of El Paso, Tx, Deborah Pelham of Hastings, FL., Ann Floyd of Youngstown, OH, Pearl Loyd (Tommy) of El Paso, Tx, Rose Horton of Detroit, MI, Helen Williams, Lila Stafford, and Velma Scott of Camilla, GA, Leola Robinson (James) of Albany, GA, Kathryn Sapp of Leesburg, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives,
